Wolley 將發表「使用 NVMe-over-CXL (NVMe-oC) 記憶體模式的系統測試結果」。@ FMS2025
NVMe-over-CXL (NVMe-oC) is a new technique that offers virtualized memory mode on top of NVMe storage mode operation. The virtualized memory mode has a cost advantage as the memory capacity is supported by both DRAM and NAND. In this study, we evaluate how NVMe oC compares with CXL memory module (CMM) in performance using various benchmark applications of interest. NVMe-oC memory and storage modes can run simultaneously and allow SSDs to function as both active memory and persistent storage. This study compares different hardware configurations, including NVMe-oC only, CXL memory module only, DRAM only, and a tiered approach that combines DRAM, HDM, and SSD, providing unique insights into system performance and cost-effectiveness for different applications.
